Special April School Holiday edition
Now that the weather is (finally!) cooling off, we’re about to move into Djeran!
Nature Play WA’s offices are on Whadjuk Noongar Country, so we’re about to enter Djeran, one of the six Noongar seasons (bonar). Occurring across April and May, Djeran marks the beginning of the cooler weather, and is the time when Aboriginal people traditionally repaired shelters and housing, and planned for the coming rains and colder weather.
Djeran is also the season of red flowers, including the red flowering gum, and banksias display their flowers too!
What Indigenous season is it where you live?
