Katitjiny – Week 10 14/12/2020

Week 10 – Commencing Monday, 14 December 2020

What makes Millen different?

The School Board recently had the pleasure of attending a workshop facilitated by Jethro Sercombe (one of our wonderful parents). The purpose of this was to capture ‘What makes Millen different’. This document will be used to promote our school and to help us all describe our amazing school. We would love to hear your feedback. We have attached the first draft with this newsletter and have displayed some copies around school. Please feel free to add some feedback to Post-it notes in the office or outside Room 16. Or you can email the school or add comments to this Connect notice. Thank you.

Edu-Dance Concert – Tuesday 15th December

Students have been rehearsing, and are all set to stun you with their dance moves on Tuesday.  Students need to be at their classrooms by 4:45pm so the concert can begin on time at 5pm.

Please note that due to physical distancing requirements, we ask that only two adults (18+) from each family group attend. Siblings under 18 can attend.

New teachers

I am pleased to announce the permanent appointment of two new teachers to Millen commencing next year. Janette Tuttle will be joining us as an upper primary teacher and Holly Clark will be joining us as an early childhood teacher. We look forward to welcoming them to our fabulous school.

End of Year Christmas Concert

Due to Covid-19 social distancing requirements, we ask that any families that are planning to attend, please limit to two adults.

Year 6 Graduates – final farewell and ‘ringing of the bell’

All students will farewell the Year 6s on Thursday afternoon at 2:30pm, with the traditional ‘ringing of the bell’.  Parents of Year 6 students are welcome to attend.

And we promise we’ll have a few tissues on hand!

Impromptu water fun

You will be pleased to know that we kept the children in Years 1 – 6 cool on Tuesday with some impromptu fun under the sprinklers during lunch! See the photos on the Connect notice from 8 December.
