Week beginning Monday, 29 June 2020
This whole school STEM event will be held this Friday starting at 2pm for the Kindy and Pre-primary classes who will fly their helicopters in the early childhood area. All other classes will gather on the verandas (around the quadrangle) commencing at 2.10pm. Each child has designed and made their own helicopter with the aim of trying to make it fly for the longest amount of time. Parents are welcome to come along and watch. We ask everyone to please remember the one person per two metres physical distancing requirement.
Phase 4 at Millen
From today the following applies (with physical distancing of one person per two metres):
- Interschool activities can occur
- Pre-arranged parent-teacher meetings can continue to occur
- Contact sport and training can occur and equipment can be shared
- PEAC (Primary Extension and Challenge) can occur
- Work placements can occur
- Choir can occur
- Incursions and excursions can occur
- Assemblies can occur
Health, hygiene and cleaning arrangements will continue:
- Additional funding to support the provision of cleaners on site during the day and to purchase the required supplies
- Unwell staff and students need to remain at home
- Regular handwashing and use of hand sanitiser for staff and students

Sustainability at Millen
Are you keen to celebrate, develop and support sustainability practices at Millen? If so, please email Ms Hill as we are looking to coordinate an interest group from across the school and local community. The aim of the group will be to discuss, plan and action what we can do in partnership to improve our collective ecological footprint through a shared understanding and vision of sustainability at Millen.
Applications for Kindy & Pre-Primary 2021
Applications close on Friday 24th July. It is important that forms are submitted by this date as the school has to plan class numbers for 2021.
The Application for Enrolment form can be downloaded from the Millen website: http://millenps.wa.edu.au/enrolments/application-to-enrol/). For Kindy enrolments, please submit via email along with child’s birth certificate, Immunisation History Statement and proof of address.
Existing Kindy students enrolling for Pre-Primary only need to supply the form and an updated immunisation history statement showing the child’s 4-year old immunisations.
Documentation can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or dropped into the office.
Student reports will be available for you to access on Connect from Thursday this week. No hard copy reports will be sent out this year. Please contact the office if you haven’t yet logged into Connect, or if you have forgotten your User ID or password.

Millen P&C and Tommy Sugo Fund Raising Pasta Drive
The Millen Primary School P&C, in conjunction with Tommy Sugo, are running a pasta drive to raise funds. Order Tommy Sugo Products, using the attached link (FUND RAISER ORDER FORM) between 26 June 2020 and 31 July 2020 and a portion of the commission will be donated to the P&C.
Pasta products can be home delivered or picked up from the school canteen on Friday afternoons at 2.30pm (except in the school holidays).
Please forward the link to family and friends, so they can also place orders to help us to raise money for the school.
