Week 5 – beginning Monday, 25 May
Last week marked the return to school for many of our students. We saw lots of big smiles as friends, students and teachers saw each other once again. We had an attendance rate of around 92% each day.
We have all been working hard to get back into the routines of school. The teachers have commented on how well our younger students are doing in the mornings. We have seen plenty of resilience and responsibility. Well done everyone!
Teachers are now working on the end of semester student reports. These reports will look a little different. There will not be any grades or rating scales used for learning areas. The teachers will be writing comments. These comments will vary depending on how often a teacher takes the class and how long a child has been learning at home. Some lessons take place once a week while others may take place every day. We will return to the regular reporting to parents format in Semester Two. If you have any concerns or questions about your child’s progress, please contact their teacher to discuss.
Communicating with Teachers
Please remember, while parents are still unable to meet with teachers face-to-face, you are able to contact them via email or telephone the school to make a telephone appointment. Teachers’ email addresses can be found on the ‘Learning at Home’ tab on the school website: http://millenps.wa.edu.au/learning-programs/learning-at-home/
