Week 6 – beginning Monday, 24 May 2021
We understand there are some families having trouble using Connect. There is an app available for smart phones and iPads called Connect Now. This is the easiest way to view messages. If you would like some help to use Connect, please let us know. We can tell you how to find the app and help you to access Connect. If you have forgotten / lost your User ID or need your password reset, please contact office staff.
After school play
We love to see our children and families enjoying our play spaces after school. We do need to remind parents staff are not on duty after school. We ask you all to please remember the following:
- Please ensure your children meet you at an agreed location after school. This should NOT be in the playground because it is inevitable children will begin playing and we cannot ensure their safety. Children must meet their parents and then play when their parents are supervising.
- Children who walk or ride home are required to leave the school grounds straight after school. Children can only return to play under the supervision of their parents.
- Children are not allowed to play in the undercover area. Bikes and scooters damage the flooring and balls can damage the data projector and lights.
Enrolment into Pre-Primary 2022
In week 7, forms will be sent out to our Kindy families for them to re-enrol their child into Pre-Primary. In the meantime, if your child has had their 4-year old immunisations since enrolling last year, please get the updated Immunisation History Statement ready to submit with the re-enrolment form.
Request . . . if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Do you have an old denim jacket (smallish size), that we can re purpose and use as a vests for the Boodja Band (students) to wear when they are doing Planet Millen stuff? We plan to cut the sleeves off (so they’re like a vest) and have a Boodja Band label / patch on the back. Any donations can be taken to the Art Room, or office.
Meet our new gardener
Please say hi if you see Jeff, our new school gardener around. We are so lucky to have the beautiful grounds for our students to learn and play in and school gardeners are often the unsung heroes of our schools.
Urban Forest Grant
Last week, Ms Hill and parent Emma Monk attended a presentation at the Town of Victoria Park for the successful applicants of the Urban Forest Grant. We look forward to seeing the fruits of their work soon.
Your Move Parent Survey
Our school is a Your Move school. This means we are committed to encouraging our students to use bikes, scooters, walking and public transport to get to and from school safely more often. This survey will enable us to find out a little about how you travel to school, what challenges you face using active modes of transport and where possible, find solutions to these challenges. We aim to reduce the number of cars at drop off and pick up times, to create a safer space around our school environment.
Please take 5 minutes to complete the survey below. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/85PQ9PB
