Katitjiny – week 9 – 29.03.2021

Week 9 – Beginning Monday 29 March, 2021

Public School Review

Millen’s Public School Review validation visit is this Wednesday, 31 March. Maxine Augustson, Director, Public School Review will be conducting the review with the support of Vanessa Blythe, Principal, Springfield Primary School.

The review team will be interviewing staff throughout the day. After lunch the reviewers will meet with our student leaders followed by a group of parent representatives.

Next term we will receive a report and this will be published online.

Millen Primary School’s Business Plan 2021 – 2024

Our new business plan was endorsed by the School Board this term. You will receive a copy via Connect with this edition of the Katijiny.  It will also be uploaded to the Millen website.

Summer Carnival

Congratulations to the senior students who attended the carnival last week. This year the T-ball team and the Newcombe ball team achieved first place! The full results will be shared at the next senior assembly.

Easter Hat Parade

Parents and caregivers are invited to attend our annual Easter Hat Parade this Thursday, 1 April at 8.45am on the quadrangle.

Parking Safely

You may have noticed a pedestrian access way has been created between the new and the old administration building. This access way continues across the driveway and connects to the steps on Playfield Street. A bollard has been placed on this driveway to prevent cars driving between the two buildings. This week the bollard was knocked over (during school hours) by a car reversing.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents to park on the streets surrounding the school and not in the staff carpark. There are children walking across this pedestrian walkway during school hours and their safety is our priority. Thank you.

Reminders:

Greenbatch & Containers for Change:

The collection bins have a new location outside the Art Room.  Collection day will still be every Wednesday.  During the holidays, you can take your eligible Containers for Change items to depots and use the school’s Scheme ID:  C10322826 .
