At Millen Primary School, we are committed to excellence in mathematics education through our adoption of the PR1ME Mathematics program for Australian Schools. This whole-school approach is grounded in world-class pedagogy used in top-performing countries, including Singapore, and is fully aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
PR1ME Mathematics provides our teachers with explicit models for teaching mathematical concepts, strategies, and problem-solving techniques. The program incorporates:
- The Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (C-P-A) approach to build deep conceptual understanding.
- A spiral curriculum that supports and scaffolds students’ learning journeys.

At Millen Primary, data-driven instruction is key. Our teachers utilise detailed reports from PR1ME’s digital assessments alongside data from additional testing platforms such as PAT and Elastik. We emphasise the importance of fast recall of basic facts and mathematical fluency, with students and staff collaborating to build these essential skills.
